We collect books people no longer need and get them to children who have none. What we ask for is weighted towards the books that shape how a person thinks — exam material is welcome, but it is not the point.
Categories marked as needed are the ones we are actively short of right now.

Short stories, novels and poetry — Indian voices alongside translated world classics.
Hindi, Punjabi and Rajasthani writing, so reading is not something that only happens in English.

We are specific about this so that nothing travels across the district only to be thrown away.
A rough count, the languages, and roughly what condition the books are in. No need to sort or box them first.
We write back within two working days about what is useful and what is not, so nothing travels only to be discarded.
For larger donations anywhere in Sri Ganganagar district we arrange collection ourselves.
Volunteers clean, repair spines and group the books by language and reading level.
Books go to schools, reading corners and children in the areas we work in, and we record which donation went where.
