What does GreenMind Trust actually do?

Two things. We organise native tree plantation drives across Sri Ganganagar district, and we collect donated books and pass them on to children and reading corners in the areas we work in. We do not run anything else.

Is there a minimum age to volunteer?

Field roles are open from age 16, and volunteers under 18 need a guardian's consent. Remote roles such as coordination and record keeping are open from 14 with guardian consent.

Does volunteering cost anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Volunteering is free. Tools, saplings and water are provided on drive days, and travel to a site is arranged by carpool wherever we can.

Will I get a certificate or a recommendation letter?

Accepted Answer

We issue a certificate to volunteers who have completed a season with us, and a coordinator will write a letter describing exactly what you did. We do not issue certificates for a single day's attendance.

Can I suggest a location if I do not own the land?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most suggestions come from people who simply live nearby. Tell us who the land belongs to as far as you know, and we will handle the permission conversation with the owner or the panchayat.

What happens after I suggest a plantation location?

We reply within two working days. If the site looks workable we arrange a visit with you before the next planting season, and you will hear from us either way.

Which trees do you plant?

Accepted Answer

Only species native to this arid belt — khejri, rohida, neem, jaal, kair and others chosen for the specific site. We do not plant fast-growing ornamentals that will not survive here without permanent irrigation.

What kind of books do you need?

Children's books first, then regional-language writing, stories, biographies and nature writing. We cannot use damaged books or outdated syllabus textbooks, because handing a child a ruined book teaches them that reading is a chore.

Do you collect the books, or do I drop them off?

For larger donations anywhere in Sri Ganganagar district we will collect them ourselves. For a handful of books, a drop-off is usually easier and we will send you the address.

Can I donate money?

Online donations are not open. We are setting up receipting and public reporting properly first. In the meantime, write to us and we will share direct transfer details along with what the money would be spent on.

How do you handle my personal information?

Form submissions are stored in our own database and are readable only by the trust. We do not sell, share or publish them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Can I sponsor trees in someone else's name?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that is most of what this is for. Give us the name and the occasion and we plant in their name, engrave the dedication on our wall if you want it public, and send you the record of the site.

How many trees should I sponsor?

Accepted Answer

There is no minimum. People often pick a number that means something — one for each year of a marriage, one for each student in a class. Tell us what you have in mind and we will tell you honestly what it covers.

Do I get anything to show for it?

Accepted Answer

You get the record: the site, the species, the date and photographs. If you asked for a certificate we send one in the name you gave us. We do not send anything printed and glossy that costs more than the trees.

Will the name appear publicly?

Only if you tick the box saying we may. Without that, the contribution is recorded privately and appears nowhere on this site.
